Established in 1990, In Achord is Boston University's premier all-gender a cappella group. In Achord annually competes in a cappella tournaments around the nation, most notably, the International Competition of Collegiate A Cappella (ICCA). In 2016, In Achord won the ICCA Northeast Quarterfinal hosted at the Berklee College of Music, and then went on to place fourth at the Northeast Semifinal while getting the opportunity to sing on Boston Symphony Hall's stage. Most recently, In Achord has been placed on the Best of College A Cappella (BOCA) 2021 and 2023 Spotify Albums! 

 

In addition to being a competitive a cappella group, In Achord is a family and loves to have fun along the way! In their free time, the members of In Achord can always be found hanging out, studying, and exploring Boston or the world together (yes, we’ve been to Barcelona). The group also loves to gig throughout the school year, whether that be performing with groups at neighboring universities, singing at weddings, or hosting our very own Beanpot of A Cappella every spring. 

 

Over our 30 years as a student group at Boston University, In Achord has recorded several studio albums. Our most recent EP, “Theoretically, Forever”, is now on Spotify! We pride ourselves on our R&B & pop-inspired repertoire, our in-house arrangements, and our talented soloists. With a set ranging from Beyoncé to Couch to Hozier, to Flyte, In Achord loves to perform at any and all events!
